Tarifa Holding is the family office of Bernhard Niesner. As the former CEO and co-founder of Busuu—one of the world's largest language learning platforms with over 100 million users—Bernhard successfully sold the business to Chegg (NYSE: CHGG) in 2022.

 

Since then, he has been an active business angel investor, focusing primarily on education and climate tech while supporting founding teams with bold ambitions to make the world a better place. He holds an MBA from IE Business School and was named EY Disruptor Entrepreneur of the Year in 2018.

 

Bernhard currently divides his time between London, Madrid, and Vienna. As an avid kitesurfer, he also tries to spend time in Tarifa, Andalucia - which is where the name for his family office is from.
